Trading Pictures contracts staff as required, keeping client costs down and ensuring the right people work on the right job. As a limited company (registered in 1999) Trading Pictures holds the contract with the client.
John Thirlwell
Producer / Director
John trained as a journalist working on national newspapers. Moved to Leeds (1980) and trained as a TV reporter with BBC 'Look North'. He went on to cover stories for BBC News, ITV and Channel 4 nationally and internationally. Filmed in Sri Lanka for BBC 2 programme on charity ITDG, winning Silver Medal in Commonwealth Broadcast Awards. Over the last twenty years, John has produced network documentaries (ITV1 Network First, C4 Fair Game BBC1 Sport ), and Series Produced 'History Fix' 30 minute shows for BBC4 (Screenhouse Productions). Has directed numerous celebrity presenters, including Adam Hart-Davis, Rory McGrath, Greg Dyke and Brian Cox. Currently filming Burmese refugees newly arrived in Britain as part of UN re-settlement programme. Passionate film-maker, with a strong commitment to social justice. His most recent broadcast work involved filming undercover in Morocco, Malta and Romania for ITV1.
Jane Estevez
Producer / Production Manager
BBC trained, Jane has worked on a variety of programmes including live news, gardening and feature shows, documentaries and drama productions Production Assistant on the 'Royal Armouries project when it moved to Leeds. Duties included recording the content for all the AV displays and clearing copyright. Currently location reporter and offline editor on twelve-month shoot. As Production Manager, ensures budgets and schedules are kept to agreed contracts. Jane will produce the 'Programme as Complete' (PAC) document on completion of the DVD and web based resources. Guest 'tutor' on three academic courses : Leeds University, (BA in Broadcasting), Bradford University, (BA in Multi Media), York University, (BA in Media).
Graham Barnes
Principal Cameraman
Graham is a freelance cameraman who has worked for the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and C5. His credits include, 'Blue Peter', 'Panorama', 'Holiday Programme', 'Animal Hospital', 'Teen Angels & Little Angels', 'Who Rules the Roost?' and, most recently, 'The Jeremy Kyle Show'. Graham has also worked for Trading Pictures over many years, working on corporate projects and broadcast projects.
Andy Dunderdale
Editor / Post Production Manager
Andy has worked with Trading Pictures for more than fifteen years. He has experience in the authoring and production of DVD and interactive CD-ROM material as well as producing for web-based distribution. He has worked on projects for 'Learn Direct' and BBC 'Learning Zone' as well as a number of local authorities and public bodies including METRO and Yorkshire Water.
Stewart Campbell
Animator, Graphic Designer, Composer
Stewart is an experienced contributor to all aspects of the multimedia business including 3D animation, motion graphics and effects. Stewart has worked on 'Holidays from Hell' and a wide variety of corporate projects. His recent work with The National Museum of Scotland involved him creating three AV displays for their galleries. Stewart created three distinctive productions by using archive images/footage and modern compositing techniques along with 3D animation and motion graphics. As an accomplished musician, Stewart writes and performs music for a range of corporate and non-broadcast productions.
Ramon de Juan
Cameraman / Web Producer
Ramon is a former YTV cameraman, who has worked on a number of projects with Trading Pictures. His involvement with the social video sector in Bradford has given him much experience with the BME community. His recent work includes an NHS project (Leeds PCT - 'Smoke-Free Homes') which has involved working and filming with the South Asian community of Beeston, and also in Pakistan. With a command of basic Urdu, Ramon is an ideal choice for filming in any multi-cultural environment. He has shot and edited projects on a range of themes regarding bullying, smoking, education and race.
Emily Evans-Thirlwell
Assistant Producer / Researcher. Having graduated from Warwick University with a 2.1 in Politics & Sociology in Summer 2009, Emily has worked with several major production companies as part of her industry 'intern' programme. These include Working Title Films, Sky Sports News, and Screenhouse. Working with Trading Pictures, Emily has researched and scheduled shoots, assisted with filming on location, and logged / digitised rushes. She has edited on Final Cut. She is planning to develop her all-round production talent by working with Working Title again in 2010.
