Have recently watched C4's documentary on Sri Lanka - No Fire Zone. Carefully researched, filmed and edited piece that sets out the very clear evidence that the current government backed a campaign to murder Tamils (children blown up, women abused and killed, soldiers who surrendered executed) and details the way the various 'No Fire Zones' were redrawn (last one less than a square mile) and then targeted by government shelling. I was involved in making a few documentaries (four - nothing heroic) in Sri Lanka, and at that time (early 90's) the war was pretty lively. Both sides blowing each other up, but the warfare was all around Jafna. ..Cameron's visit raised awareness, let's hope the UN or UK government get that rigorous inquiry into what happened.
